Love Bites by Lynsay Sands
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Etienne Argeneau's three hundred years of bachelorhood are at an end. He can only "turn" one human in his lifetime, and most of his kind reserved that power for creating a life mate. He has to save Rachel Garrett. He doesn't know her very well, but the beautiful coroner had saved his life. To save hers he would make her immortal. Rachel Garrett awakes surprised. All she'd wanted was to get off the night shift at the morgue; now here she is staggering to her feet naked and in a strange place. Then she sees the man of her dreams emerging from his...coffin? She just hopes he tastes as good as he looks.
(Summary from Goodreads.com)
This was a great book with a simple story line that was easy to follow! I think Lynsay Sands is one of my favorite authors because she combines humor, romance, and the paranormal to create a masterpiece that is a delight to read!

Word Gets Around by Lisa Wingate
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I didn't think much about this book at all because it was so boring! It had a good story line but it was all shot to pieces because Wingate went into too much detail too the point of exhaustion! It was nice that she could be so descriptive, but it was to the point where it no longer held my interest and I was just skipping page after page of unnecessary information! I will not read this book again and was disappointed in it. Someone needs to write a book that is christian but not so boring! This is why I don't read christian books, but I thought I'd give this one a try anyway. Big mistake!

Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men - Molly Harper
Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men by Molly Harper
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Once a devoted children's librarian, Jane Jameson now works at a rundown occult bookstore. Once a regular gal, she's now a vampire. And instead of a bride, she's an eternal bridesmaid — which leads her to question where exactly her relationship with her irresistibly sexy sire, Gabriel, is headed. Mercurial, enigmatic, apparently commitment-phobic vampires are nothing if not hard to read. While Jane is trying to master undead dating, she is also donning the ugliest bridesmaid's dress in history at her best friend Zeb's Titanic-themed wedding. Between a freaked-out groom-to-be, his hostile werewolf in-laws, and Zeb's mother, hell-bent on seeing Jane walk the aisle with Zeb, Jane's got the feeling she's just rearranging the proverbial deck chairs.
Meanwhile, Half Moon Hollow's own Black Widow, Jane's Grandma Ruthie, has met her match in her latest fiancé. He smells like bad cheese and has a suspicious history of dead spouses. But Jane's biting her tongue. After all, would a nice girl really think she has a future with a vampire?\
(summary from Goodreads.com)
I enjoyed this book, but it moved a little slow because there was a lack of mystery and anticipation. It was a predictable book. That being said, it was still well written even though I had to skip over some boring parts. A very likeable book with a little humor and romance!

Bet Me - Jennifer Crusie
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Minerva Dobbs knows that happily-ever-after is a fairy tale, especially with a man who asked her to dinner to win a bet. Even if he is gorgeous and successful Calvin Morrisey. Cal knows commitment is impossible, especially with a woman as cranky as Min Dobbs. Even if she does wear great shoes, and keep him on his toes. When they say good-bye at the end of their evening, they cut their losses and agree never to see each other again.
But Fate has other plans, and it's not long before Min and Cal meet again. Soon, they're dealing with a jealous ex-boyfriend, Krispy Kreme donuts, a determined psychologist, chaos theory, a freakishly intelligent cat, Chicken Marsala, and more risky propositions than either of them ever dreamed of. Including the biggest gamble of all-true love.
(summary from Goodreads.com)
I really enjoyed reading this book because it was funny and entertaining. Min and Cal are an unlikely couple who fight all the time, yet there is a certain chemistry that draws them together and make this book a must read!

Too Good To Be True - Kristan Higgins
Too Good To Be True by Kristan Higgins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Grace is a history teacher with an obsession with the Civil War. She lives alone and is single. Well, she gets sick of being single when everyone treats her like the walking wounded. So, to remedy the situation she makes up a charming and handsome man who's to good to be true and tells her family that she is dating him. This book had me laughing and relating to Grace. She is just a girl who wants to find "The One". Unfortunately, there is the issue of her hunky and dangerous next door neighbor. She immediately feels attracted to him but there is the issue of his unsavory past. He has a shady past that makes them an odd couple, but can they overcome that to be together or is Grace destined to make up more fake boyfriends?
(summary from Goodreads.com)
This book was a humorous and light read that was charming and laugh-out-loud funny! I really liked this book and will be reading more of Kristan Higgins books in the near future!

Night of The Huntress - Kathryn Smith
This book is part of the Brotherhood of Blood series and I am becoming addicted to these books!
Here is my review for this book:
Night of the Huntress by Kathryn Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was a seductively sexy book with plenty of emotion! It started out slow at first, but then did it ever get hot! Bishop and Marika are an unlikely match because she hunts the very monster he is...vampires. It is not until she finds her feelings for him start changing when he defends her against men who come to kidnap her. Their love is a tender, erotic, and forever kind of love, but soon Marika must choose if she will love him forever or not.....

Moon Called - Patricia Briggs - Mercy Thompson Series
Hello again! No, I didn't drop off the face of the Earth! I just haven't been getting around to blogging because I have a new favorite website : Goodreads.com -- it's an awesome site where you can keep up with what your reading, see what your friends are reading, and get recommendations as to what you should read! I'm still reading as frantically as ever - averaging about 3 books a week. I've had to take a couple of breaks from reading to watch T.V. *boring* just to recharge my brain. I have found that there is nothing on Television that interests me anymore. Most days I keep it off and just read. As far as my writing goes, I haven't made too much progress because of lack of motivation. It helps that I have a writing partner, though! Now that I've had my shpill......here is the summary, book review, and rating I gave Moon Called ----
Summary:
Werewolves can be dangerous if you get in their way, but they'll leave you alone if you are careful. They are very good at hiding their natures from the human population, but I'm not human. I know them when I meet them, and they know me, too.
Mercy Thompson's sexy next-door neighbor is a werewolf.
She's tinkering with a VW bus at her mechanic shop that happens to belong to a vampire.
But then, Mercy Thompson is not exactly normal herself ... and her connection to the world of things that go bump in the night is about to get her into a whole lot of trouble.
(Summary from Goodreads.com)
Review: Loved it!
I give this book a 5/5 stars because it was one of the best series I've started in a long time! Mercy finds herself having to live in the presence of werewolves and get involved in their politics while also dealing with deadly vampires. Her sexy next door neighbor is an Alpha werewolf and they have a hot and cold relationship, but that makes the book more interesting to read. Mercy also has a charming friend who she used to be in love with involved in her life again. Things get really heated when one of them tries to claim Mercy as their own!
