Can't Help Falling in Love - Bella Andre

Can't Help Falling In Love: The Sullivans, Book 3 (Contemporary Romance)Can't Help Falling In Love: The Sullivans, Book 3 by Bella Andre

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Get ready for another Sullivan bad boy to fall in love in the third book of Bella Andre's bestselling contemporary romance series!

BOOK DESCRIPTION: Gabe Sullivan risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire...and can't stop thinking about.

Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving - and losing - a man with a dangerous job again.

Only, when Gabe and Megan meet again and uncontrollable flames of desire ignite between them, how can he possibly ignore her courage, determination, and beauty? And how can she deny not only his strong bond with her daughter…but the way his sweetly sensual kisses are challenging her to risk everything she’s been guarding for so long?

This winter, if one - or both - of them aren’t careful, they just might end up falling in love.

Gabe was a strong, sexy firefighter who loved children and ended up falling in love with Megan and her daughter. I loved the way Summer played matchmaker. Megan needed to overcome her fear of relationships with men in dangerous jobs, and Gabe was just the man for the job. They made a wonderful couple and a beautiful family. I'm loving these Sullivan men! Gabe stole my heart! Can't wait to see what story Andre writes next!

Forbidden Falls - Robyn Carr

Forbidden Falls (Virgin River, #9)Forbidden Falls by Robyn Carr

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

VIRGIN RIVER IS ABUZZ WITH THE NEWS THAT A STRANGER BOUGHT THE TOWN'S ABANDONED CHURCH ON EBAY. THE BUYER, A YOUNG WIDOWED REVEREND, IS A LITTLE LIKE THE BUILDING ITSELF: IN NEED OF SOME TENDER LOVING CARE.

Noah Kincaid arrives ready to roll up his sleeves and revitalize his new purchase, but he's going to need some help. An ad in the local paper brings and improbably candidate his way.

"Pastor's assistant" is not a phrase that springs to mind when Noah meets brassy, beautiful Ellie Baldwin. With her colorful clothes and even more colorful past, Ellie needs a respectable job so she can regain custody of her children. Noah can't help but admire her spunk and determination, and she may just be the breath of fresh air he needs.

The unlikely duo may come from two different worlds, but they have more in common than anyone would have expected. And in Virgin River lasting happiness is never out of the question.

Loved this book! Who says a young, strapping minister shouldn't have a normal sex drive? Not me! Noah is a widowed minister who lives to help others, but his heart beats faster when he helps out the good hearted, sexy, and determined Ellie! Ellie has two kids and alot of baggage, but in this heartwarming story the reader gets pulled into what true love really means - it's what's inside, not outside that truly matters and love thrives in unexpected places! One of my favorite books!

Snowbound With Her Hero - Rebecca Winters

Snowbound with Her Hero (Harlequin Romance #4273)Snowbound with Her Hero by Rebecca Winters

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Christmas is approaching, and a holiday in the snowy Alps with her young son should be a pleasure for single mom Crystal. But it means facing the man who affects her like no other—Raoul Broussard.

There was always a spark between Raoul and Crystal, but he is her late husband's brother and she is determined to keep her distance. Yet as sleigh rides and toasty log fires bring her closer to Raoul, Crystal must confront the way he makes her feel—and the heartwarming way he connects with her son.…

This was a very sweet story of a man who knew exactly what he wanted and went after it. Crystal was scared at first, but even she had to admit in the end that they had something special. Family comes in many different kinds of packages, but this family's story is a tender one that touched my heart. Winters captured the romance and conflict all too well and told a story that is sure to make the reader happy in the end!

Cover Me - by Catherine Mann

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The 300 pararescue jumpers (PJs) in the world are the most elite force in the U.S. military, trained in high-risk rescue, and have never been featured in a romantic suspense series.

PJ Wade Rocha is fast roping from a helicopter into a blizzard to rescue stranded climbers when he meets beautiful Sunny Foster, who insists she can take care of herself just fine. As the snowstorm kicks into overdrive, she and Wade must take to the frozen wilderness in a race against time...and their own explosive passions.

Wade was the essence of manliness in this book and Sunny is a tough as nails (but soft at heart) woman who wants to do the right thing by her family. They both unexpectedly fall for each other when things start to get hot in the cold Alaska weather. I loved the way Wade played the protector and Sunny did not want to be protected. It made for an entertaining story. Full of action and mystery as well as romance this book has it all. I thoroughly enjoyed my reading adventure learning more about this brave and sexy pararescue jumper and his feisty unlikely companion, Sunny!

Second Chance Pass - Robyn Carr

Second Chance Pass (Virgin River, #5)Second Chance Pass by Robyn Carr

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In the space of a few months Vanessa buried her husband, Matt, and gave birth to their son—breaking her heart while filling it with a whole new kind of love. But the one man she longs to share this love with now acts as if she doesn't exist.

Paul Haggerty lives by the marine motto: Semper Fi. Ever faithful to his best friend, he's done right by Matt's widow as best he can…considering he's been secretly in love with her for years. Now, just as he's about to make his move, another woman has staked her claim on him—a claim that will be tough to escape.

With courage, humility and not a little meddling from the good folks of Virgin River, Vanni and Paul might just get a second chance to have the love they both desire and deserve.

This book was not as entertaining as the first three because the book could have easily ended in the middle. Vanni and Paul's story was only part of this book the rest was about the other lives in Virgin River. Paul does not act manly enough for me in this book and Vanni comes off as being a serious pain in the arse. Not one of my favorite of this series. It took me a while to read because I kept losing interest.

Christmas in Cold Creek - RaeAnne Thayne

She claimed to be a waitress and a single mother, but Rebecca Parsons doesn't look like any hash-slinger Pine Gulch Police Chief Trace Bowman has ever seen. And she doesn't seem particularly maternal toward her little girl, either. Still, one look in her vulnerable green eyes and his protective instincts go into overdrive.

Attention from local law enforcement is the last thing Becca needs. She'll do anything to protect her little sister Gabi from their con-artist mother, even lie about their identities. When Trace shows up at their house carrying a Christmas tree and stirring desires she can't afford to indulge, she longs to surrender to the magic of the season with him. But Becca's past is catching up—fast. Can her sexy police chief perform a Christmas miracle?

This book was okay, but I really missed the attraction and romance part. It was in there, yes, but I didn't get a real sense of a strong attraction between the hero and heroine. It seemed Becca was too busy hiding secrets to have a love affair with Trace. I was disappointed that they didn't get together and make the sparks fly like they did when they kissed, supposedly. Other than that, it was a good book. I don't think I'll be reading any more Special Edition Harlequins because they seem to have less romance in them......
