This was one of the books that I purchased from Barnes and Noble for my new Nook! I enjoyed the reading experience with the Nook - especially that you can turn of the lights and still read! I have missed Sookie and her mysterious and exciting life in Bon Temps. Here is a summary of the book and my review:
Summary:
With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. But Sookie suspects otherwise and she and Sam work together to uncover the culprit - and the twisted motive for the attack. But her attention is divided. Though she can't 'read' vampires, Sookie knows her lover Eric Northman and his 'child' Pam well - and she realises that they are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, she is drawn into the plot -which is much more complicated than she knows. Caught up in the politics of the vampire world, Sookie will learn that she is as much of a pawn as any ordinary human - and that there is a new Queen on the board . . .

Review: Excellent!
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. It didn't get 5 stars because of my bias opinion of the relationship between Eric and Sookie. Their relationship is on the rocks alot in this book (and Sookie struggles within herself to test if her and Eric are really meant to be together) and I didn't really care for it. With that being said, the rest of the book was great! Alot of mystery, action, and a dash of romance.

The True Blood show is based on the books, not vice versa. This book has been critically panned for its plotholes and lack of author effort. I guess somebody had to like it.
