Single White Vampire - Lynsay Sands

Single White Vampire (Argeneau, #3)Single White Vampire by Lynsay Sands

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thought that Lucern was a little weird at first because he was a little creepy and didn't talk much. As the story went on it was kind of entertaining to see Kate bring him out of his shell. She's out going and he's a recluse. She likes to be around people, he hates it. She does her best to bring out the charming man she knows he can be and not only succeeds, but falls in love while doing so! Great book!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Matt and Meredith soon find out the truth of their grudge and decide to give love another chance, but getting there is going to be harder than ever. Could they truly find paradise or were they just a mistake that happened in the past?

I loved this book! It was a very long book, though and it took a while to get into the story. Once I got into the story I couldn't stop reading it because I was dying to see what would happen in their relationship. The story had romance and mystery and had a few twists at the end to make things interesting. Even though it was a long book, it was well worth the time reading it to get the full effect of the story!

Catch of The Day - Kristan Higgins

Catch Of The DayCatch Of The Day by Kristan Higgins

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Maggie is the owner of Joe's diner and is quite happy with her quaint life - except her love life. It seems she has a crush on the priest who is trying to match her up with the fine young men of her community. She tries to date, but it is destined to end in disaster every time. She envies her sister who has a loving husband and a cute baby, but almost gives up hope completely on having a love life.
Malone is a man of few words and the words he uses involves nodding and grunting. He's a a lobsterman and a very manly man that drops into Maggie's life one unfortunate day when Maggie is down on her luck. Underneath his rough exterior is a man with a heart of gold.
There is something dark and mysterious about Malone and soon Maggie and Malone find themselves drawing each others attentions. Will this unlikely attraction lead to something wonderful or just end in romantic demise?

I really liked this book, but I didn't like how Maggie kept swooning over father Tim. I mean, I know he was cute and all, but it got kinda old after a while! I wish Malone would have opened up more also. I would have like to have read more about the chemistry between Malone and Maggie. It was a little far fetched to see them as a couple but the ending was pretty decent!

Jillian Greene is always getting caught in the act—it's her job! Working at Catch a Mate, Jillian gets paid by suspicious wives to smile, flirt and prove that no man can be trusted around the opposite sex. But she never gets physical—until a heart-stoppingly gorgeous male walks in.…

Marcus Brody has just been hired to test female fidelity. But the last thing Jillian needs is a partner…especially an infuriating, irresistible man who's got her fantasizing about tearing off his clothes!

(Goodreads.com)

Even though it took me a while to get into this book because it moved a little slow in the beginning, there was a sexual tension between Jillian and Marcus that kept me interested and I enjoyed reading it. The ending seemed a little rushed for the "happily ever after", but other that that, it was a very enjoyable read!

Welcome To Temptation - Jennifer Crusie

Welcome to Temptation (Dempsey's, #1)Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A town with a name like Temptation is bound to be a hotbed of trouble, and Jennifer Crusie knows the perfect way to expose it.

Welcome to Temptation is a deliciously titillating and outlandish mix of scandal, gossip, and small-town politics. Crusie throws in some really hot sex and a dead body or two just for fun, then pits a family of Temptation bluebloods against a family of outsiders whose heritage includes generations of con artists.

When Sophie Dempsey and her sister Amy head to the small town of Temptation, Ohio, to shoot a video with their friend and onetime porn star, the still gorgeous but aging Clea Whipple, Sophie has a premonition of disaster. It's a premonition that grows when Sophie and Amy literally collide with the town's most righteous and outspoken politician before they even get into town. But this car accident, which occurs just below a sign advertising Temptation's commitment to family values, is just the beginning of Sophie's troubles.

When a rumor circulates through Temptation that the women are shooting a porn video, it prompts visits from several townsfolk, including Temptation's very sexy mayor, Phineas Tucker. Sophie finds the mayor's charms irresistible and succumbs to a bit of indulgent sex she figures will be a one-night stand. But that one night leads to another...and another...and another...with some mornings and afternoons thrown in for good measure. And despite their best intentions, neither Sophie nor Phin seems able to give up their sessions of mind-blowing, "headbanging" sex.

With an election right around the corner and a Tucker family legacy that includes many generations of mayors, the pressure is on Phin to keep Temptation on an even keel and his own reputation unsullied. But his biggest opponent, Stephen Garvey, is determined to bring Phin down, by hook or crook. And Phin's mother, who will stop at nothing to see the family legacy carried on, inadvertently aids Garvey through her attempts to keep Sophie and Phin apart.

Meanwhile, a Hollywood porn king comes to town and woos Garvey's young daughter. Clea's sleazy ex-husband, a nosy, blackmailing onetime newscaster, shows up armed with some very interesting facts about several people in town. And Sophie's brother, whose talents as a scam artist are unparalleled, shows up to defend his sister's honor. As if things aren't crazy enough, when a dead body turns up on a riverside dock, the finger of suspicion points in several directions at once. And suddenly Sophie realizes her premonition is about to come true in a very deadly way.

What with the gossip, the politics, and the healthy sexual appetites, Temptation is one busy little town. Crusie populates it with some of the most intriguingly quirky characters ever to walk the pages of a book. The repartee between Sophie and Phin is quick-witted and bawdy, the sex deliciously kinky. Crusie keeps the action zipping, the sex sizzling, and the laughs plentiful. She has all the eccentricities of a small town down pat, right down to the stunningly brilliant punishment delivered to the town's killer.

Temptation, whether it be the town or the sin, is perverse, pernicious, and one heck of a lot of fun.

—Beth Amos

This book was an excellent story of romance and mystery! It had everyday people in it and the alpha male wasn't rich, but he was with the woman purely because he was attracted to her and loved her! I loved this book!
